甲虫（Beetle）は昆虫の中で最も多様性があり、日本に生息する甲虫は約7,500種類以上が記録されていて。亜種を含むと10000種以上になります。このサイトには虫林が好む大きくて美しいフォトジェニックな甲虫たちの写真を掲載しています。掲載されている写真は全て虫林自身によって撮影されたもので、山梨県、長野県を中心に日本各地で撮影したものです。近年はカミキリムシ科の甲虫たちの撮影に力を入れています。
Beetles are the most diverse group in insects, and over 7,500 species of beetles have been recorded from Japan. When including subspecies, this number possibly exceeds 10,000. This website features photographs of large and beautiful photogenic beetles. All photographs presented on this site are taken by myself, with a focus on Yamanashi and Nagano Prefectures, as well as other regions across Japan. In recent years, there has been a particular emphasis on photographing beetles from the Cerambycidae family.
